Conductive Compounds

Conductive compounds are important in many industries because they help prevent static electricity. Static electricity is electrical energy at rest on a surface. It is generally created by the rubbing our touching together of two or more nonconductive materials. But this natural phenomenon can have adverse effects if allowed to be build up at wrong place. Static charge if left to build can lead to spark and in turn it may end up in a fire. It can also cause damage to sensitive electronics and erase or alter magnetic media.

Conductive compounds have good decay rates which provides a ground pathway to bleed off stronger electrical charges. They have low resistivity and are used to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD), electromagnetic interference (EMI), and radio frequency interference (RFI).
